PLN for all
Creating a PLN is helpful in so many aspects of your professional career. By being part of this course, I have learned a lot from simply reading other participate's blogs. I look forward to continuing this learning process. I feel more comfortable about trying new technology, but at the same time more frustrated than I was when I started the class. I had no idea how far behind I am as it relates to technology. The reality of this as with anything else, you either jump in full speed ahead or get trampled while others are passing you by. I plan to continue growing my PLN by inviting teachers and administrators to read my blog and post comments. There is no limit to what we can learn from one another.

Use of Web 2.0 tools
The use of Web 2.0 tools is very effctive for communicating with parents, students and stakeholders. My action plan to use such tools include the following.
Email: I plan to continue using email to communicate with teachers, other administations, parents etc. for daily messages as well as to respond to questions or comments that they may send to me.
Blogs: My action plan as it relates to blogging is to discuss how to improve math scores at each grade level with special attention being given to students who struggle with basic addition/subtraction facts and muliplication facts. I will share my page with parents to solicit their input and hopefully give them ideas on how to help their children learn basic math facts.
Podcast: I plan to use podcasting for weekly professional development meetings. The teachers meet once a week for professional development. Through these meetings, information is often times, left out or one group has more information than the previous. I plan to use podcast to detail these weekly meetings. By completing a podcast, this will ensure the same information is provided throughout the day.

Blog Benefits
In taking the Elearning class, I am growing in the area of technology. I have been against social networks, twitter, blogging etc. Only because of my own ignorance about the various items. Through reading and talking with others as I develop a Professional Learning Network, I am recognizing the benefits of blogging. This would be a great way to reach quite a few parents with very little effort. I look forward to learning even more in the very near future.
